Today I went into Sydney to the Ultimo  television studios of the ABC
 (Australian Broadcasting Corporation).
To watch a recording of a new show called Randling
The audience is lining up to enter the studio.
Coke and Orange Juice provided as refreshment for waiting audience.
Wendy Harmer and Benjamin Law represented the Northern Thrusters
Dave O’Neill and Anthony Morgan represented the Fitzroy Fireballs.

There are either Matinee or Evening Recordings until 1st May.
Audience Phone Number: Call 02 9217 2243

I left home at 9am to catch a train into Sydney to be there by 11.30am the recording started at 12.30pm, I was able to get a aisle seat as I get a little clautrosphobic if I feel closed in. The warmup guy was ok but just didn’t connect comfortably with the audience (different guy does the night recording). The show is a word game two teams vying against each other for points. Andrew Denton (Big Gig, Glass House, Enough Rope) hosted the show and it was great to see someone (including Wendy Harmer)  I have be watching on TV for the last 20 years. I have been to a recording of previous shows over the years and I am surprised how different it is to watching a show on TV.

These pictures came from the Sydney newspaper, The Daily Telegraph’s social page, Sydney Confidential. It was a lovely sight to see after watching the flood coverage from Brisbane.
A great $1 investment.
I am sitting here watching the #qldflood coverage and I can’t believe speed of the water STILL flowing down the streets on its way to the Pacific Ocean. Householders are getting lots of help from volunteers to remove damaged furniture, mud and debris from their homes.

Its 12.20am Tuesday morning and I’m up late watching the Commonwealth Games presently being held in Delhi, India.

I should have gone to bed an hour ago but now watching the Women’s Water Diving Final, the Aussie girls are going quite well but a Malaysian girl has had a great final dive and just won the Gold medal
.. sorry .. too tired to take note of her name.
Sally Pearson, an Aussie, won the Hurdles Final
not sure how far she had to race but she had to hurdle 13 hurdles
… so do the math …
or was it 13 steps between each hurdle.
Oh well, Sally cleared without coming a cropper
… so all’s good.
Now the Men’s 3000m SteepleChase Final is on, not sure if I will see the end of this as I am falling asleep … Aussie didn’t win ( Awwww) but those wonderful Athletes from Kenya came 1st 2nd and 3rd. Well done, Kenya.
Oh! Great! the Pole Vault is on also the Aussie guy, Steve Hooker, is World Champ from the Olympics, World Cup etc etc etc.
Its now 1am.
Too tired off to bed and will record this session and watch tomorrow.
Stay tuned …

Sunday night and I am watching Stephen Fry

on Channel 2 (aka ABC).
What a charming man, his monologues are interesting, funny and entertaining. I didn’t realised how tall he (6’4″) was until Jennifer Byrne (5′ nothing)
joined him on stage to participate in a question and answer segment.
Love his yellow socks.
